HYDROFLOORS

The Hydrofloors® variable depth swimming pool floors are the perfect fusion of state-of-the-art-technology with functionality and beauty. With our Hydrofloors® system, the space transforms seamlessly from one function to another. It doubles the floor space and adds to the property value. The indoor or outdoor swimming pool can simultaneously be a deep diving pool, a child friendly shallow depth pool or a mid-depth pool for exercise. Once closed, it offers full security and converts the pool into a multifunctional room or terrace. The surface can then serve other purposes such as being used as an additional living space, hosting a party or having a space to work out.

Hydrofloors® allows for the ultimate aesthetic solution. Thanks to its unrivalled loading capacity, it can accommodate any architect’s selected floor finishing choices, including tiles, glass-mosaics or natural stones such as marble. When the pool is closed, energy costs are greatly reduced. The pool water stays in the pool under the floor and the opening between the Hydrofloors® system and the pool wall is only 8 mm. The floor can support a load of 250kg/m2 in the upper most position with the automatic locking pins in place and 80 kg/m2 in any other position.

Here are some technical details on the floor structure:
  • The main structure consists of stainless steel beams, which are calculated precisely to the pool size requirements to allow for a strong load capacity. A higher load capacity at the surface level is achieved by using locking pins sliding automatically in the pool shell walls.

  • Under the structure are buoyancy packs that make the whole floor structure float. These packs are located between the main stainless-steel beams.

  • Depending on the pool size and options we need a minimum of 600mm additional pool depth to the required swimming depth.

  • The floor surface finish consists of 3mm thick plates and ready to be tiled/finished in accordance with your design. (Tiling, mosaic, natural stone etc.)

  • This complete structure is buoyant and pulled down via stainless steel cables and a pulley system with a water based hydraulic cylinder to the desired depth. All components (structure, cables, etc.) are sized taking into consideration all factors of safety.

  • All stainless-steel parts are pickled and passivized post-fabrication to restore the high anti-corrosion properties that were lost whilst welding.

  • An access hatch is always integrated into the floor structure for its maintenance.

  • A water level sensor is installed in the movable floor to avoid operation without a sufficient water level.

  • The system can be controlled by an intelligent Windows based touch screen, with pre-programmed depth setting. The floor can be stopped and used at any depth.

  • An additional output is provided to inform the main filtering system that the floor is up and allowing necessary settings to be modified according to the pool specifications.

  • Annual maintenance visits by certified Twinscape® engineers are essential in order to ensure proper functioning of the floor. No drainage of the pool is required for these visits as the engineers are qualified divers.

Our team of qualified engineers in coordination with Manufacturer officials, personally manage these projects in cooperation with you and your architect.
